Our Impact

Education is a very important sector in the effort to reconstruct Aceh after the tsunami on December 26, 2004. About 2500 teachers of elementary schools up to senior high schools were reported dead following the earthquake and tsunami (Media Indonesia, 7 January 2005).
The damage of the facilities and the loss of the educational resources have a major impact on the life of Aceh people. Aceh children have to sacrifice their education, which is important to create better future generation.
Therefore, restructuring of educational sector is one of the most fundamental aspects in the rehabilitation and restructuring process of post-tsunami Aceh.
Sukma Foundation participates in educational development programs in Aceh. With our three schools located in region of Pidie, Bireuen and Lhokseumawe, we have recruited teachers and students through our principles and procedures.
